Since voters in Nevada passed a background checks initiative in 2016, legislators in the state have enacted several significant gun safety laws—strengthening the background checks requirement, adding an Extreme Risk law, and requiring that guns be stored securely to prevent access by children. Indeed, the state added half of its gun law score in recent years and should look to see reduced gun violence in the years to come.
