NEW YORK – Today, Everytown for Gun Safety released the following statement after the NRA announced that Vice President Mike Pence will speak at next week’s NRA convention in Dallas.
STATEMENT FROM JOHN FEINBLATT, PRESIDENT OF EVERYTOWN FOR GUN SAFETY:
“The NRA spent $30 million electing the Trump-Pence ticket, so it’s no surprise the Vice President will speak at this year’s convention. At the 2016 convention, Vice President Pence bragged that Indiana did not pass any gun safety legislation after 20 children and six adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Tragically, the Administration continues to carry the gun lobby’s water, but this year we’ve seen the country wake up, mobilize, and start to throw out politicians who are in the tank for the NRA. And we are just getting started.”
Everytown and Moms Demand Action will have an active presence in Dallas during the NRA’s annual convention in Dallas from Thursday, May 3 to Sunday, May 6.
