Early Reports Indicate it May Have Been a Murder-Suicide

NEW YORK – The New York chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, released the following statement in response to reports that four people, including a young girl and teenage boy, were found dead in a Brooklyn apartment early this morning. Details are still unfolding, but early reports indicate that detectives suspect the deaths may be a triple murder-suicide.

STATEMENT FROM SHENEE JOHNSON, VOLUNTEER WITH THE NEW YORK CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“My heart is breaking for all those affected by this shooting. My son was shot and killed shortly before his high school graduation, so I know all too well the pain of having a loved one taken by gun violence. This shooting is a tragic reminder that gun violence affects communities everywhere and that we need to do more to protect all kids and families from gun violence.”
