STATEMENT FROM CHERYL HAASE, VOLUNTEER WITH THE NEW MEXICO CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“Today’s news leaves a hole in my heart and a pit in my stomach. All I can think about are the families of the victims whose lives are forever changed, who will never see their loved ones again. As a teacher, it worries me that students will think about if today is the day someone is gunned down at school. My thoughts are with the victims and their families and friends as they begin to cope with this tragedy. New Mexico must not let these tragedies become normal – our elected officials must work harder to keep our schools and communities safer.”
