6.17.2018

TRENTON, N.J. – The New Jersey chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, released the following statement in response to the shooting at Art All Night Trenton, a 24 hour art festival. Reports indicate one person was shot and killed and at least 22 others were injured, and 16 of those suffered gunshot wounds. The New Jersey chapter of Moms Demand Action had a booth at the event.

STATEMENT FROM BRETT SABO, VOLUNTEER LEADER WITH THE NEW JERSEY CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of all the victims and the entire Trenton community. Our volunteers were there to help their community organize to stop gun violence and tragically became witnesses to it. Today marks three years since the Charleston shooting, which is another tragic reminder that these incidents shouldn’t happen. We should feel safe in churches, schools and at art festivals. We must do more to protect our kids and families from gun violence.”
