Everytown, Senate Majority PAC Launch Paid Media Campaign in Michigan and Pennsylvania

10.9.2024

WASHINGTON — Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Senate Majority PAC announced a $4 million paid media campaign across Michigan and Pennsylvania. The ads, which are running on streaming platforms and YouTube, target persuasion and motivation audiences and highlight MAGA Republicans’ opposition to common sense gun safety laws and history of supporting extreme abortion bans.

“As we saw two years ago with the passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, life-saving progress on gun safety requires a gun sense majority in the Senate,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “We’re proud to partner with Senate Majority PAC to ensure voters in Pennsylvania and Michigan know which Senate candidates are fighting to keep our schools, law enforcement and communities safe from gun violence — and which candidates are putting lives at risk by standing in the way.”

“From saying they supported national abortion bans to their opposition to common sense gun safety laws, Mike Rogers and Dave McCormick are too extreme to represent the people of Michigan and Pennsylvania,” said Senate Majority PAC President JB Poersch. “That’s why we’ve teamed up with Everytown for Gun Safety – because voters deserve to know the truth about these out of touch, dangerous politicians.”

MICHIGAN: “What Kind of Senator”

Transcript:

What kind of Senator would Mike Rogers be? Let’s check the record.

Mike Rogers wants to rip away abortion rights, and in Congress he sponsored four bills to ban abortion with no exceptions for rape or to save a woman’s life.

And Rogers voted against common sense gun safety laws again and again, opposing background checks and making it easier for violent criminals to get guns.

The record is clear.

Mike Rogers: He’d be the most extreme Senator Michigan has ever seen.

PENNSYLVANIA: “Remember”

Transcript:

You’ve heard a lot about Dave McCormick, so here’s three things to remember.

One: Dave McCormick opposes abortion rights.

McCORMICK: I’m someone who’s pro-life.

Two: He said he was fully against abortion, with no exceptions for rape or incest.

Three: McCormick is against any gun safety law — even those that keep guns away from violent criminals.

The only Senate candidate with plans that extreme is Dave McCormick.

And the only one who can stop him is you.

In July, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and Victory Fund announced a $45 million electoral program and the launch of a new grassroots voter contact program to help elect gun sense candidates and defeat gun extremists up and down the ballot in key swing districts and states. Everytown’s efforts will focus on young voters on college campuses, voters of color, and suburban women in Arizona, California, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Last month, Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced a record $7.5 million investment to train and elect to train and elect Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers, including many candidates running in key races across the country.
