NEW YORK – Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a part of Everytown, today applauded TOMS on the launch of its campaign aimed at ending gun violence.

The multifaceted campaign aims to lend support to the gun violence prevention movement in a number of ways, including calling on TOMS’ customers and all Americans to contact their members of Congress and urge them to pass comprehensive background checks legislation. To launch the campaign, TOMS announced an investment of $5 million to support organizations working to end gun violence around the country.

People can visit TOMS.com to write and send postcards to their representatives and to voice support for change.

STATEMENT FROM JOHN FEINBLATT, PRESIDENT OF EVERYTOWN FOR GUN SAFETY:

“The majority of Americans want common-sense solutions to gun violence — and we are proud to stand alongside businesses like TOMS that are standing with their customers and supporting efforts to keep our communities safe. We look forward to working with the team at TOMS, a company with a long commitment to improving lives around the world, in the movement to combat gun violence here at home.”

STATEMENT FROM SHANNON WATTS, FOUNDER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“Across the country, countless Moms Demand Action volunteers are buying TOMS to honor the company’s incredible stance against gun violence. For years, corporate leaders at Target, Starbucks, Chipotle and other American companies have called for common-sense gun safety policies and laws to protect their customers. When companies stand for our families’ safety, we will stand – and spend our money – with them. I am so grateful to TOMS for walking the talk that I’ll be wearing a pair the next time I march for gun safety.”
