Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Planned Parenthood Votes Announce $1 Million Ad Campaign

8.20.2024

$1M Swing State Ad Buy to Highlight Stakes for Reproductive Freedom, Gun Safety in this Election

NEW YORK — Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Planned Parenthood Votes announced they are partnering on a digital ad campaign focused on the stakes for reproductive rights and gun safety this election cycle. The ad, ‘Proud,’ highlights the clear choice in this election: a Trump-Vance ticket that will ban abortion and undo the life-saving progress on gun safety, and a Harris-Walz ticket that will protect abortion rights and take action to keep families safe from gun violence. Collectively, Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Planned Parenthood Votes will spend up to $1 million distributing the ad to mobilize key constituencies in Arizona, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

“MAGA Republicans are hellbent on taking away reproductive rights and rolling back progress on gun safety, both of which threaten the health, safety and freedom of Americans,” said John Feinblatt, President of Everytown for Gun Safety. “With so much on the line in this election, Everytown Victory Fund is proud to partner with Planned Parenthood Votes to defeat the Trump-Vance ticket and their extreme MAGA agenda that would strip Americans of their rights.”

“For anti-abortion politicians, overturning Roe v Wade was just the beginning,” said Jenny Lawson, executive director of Planned Parenthood Votes. “We know they’re coming for birth control and IVF next and won’t hesitate to ban abortion nationwide if given the chance. That’s why it’s all hands on deck this November. This election is our time to decide what is best for our families, bodies, lives, and futures. We’re excited to work with Everytown Victory Fund to make sure voters understand what is at risk and fight back at the ballot box.”

Voiceover: Donald Trump is proud of his extreme record…

Proud to ban abortion.

TRUMP: “For 54 years, they were trying to get Roe v. Wade terminated, and I did it. And I’m proud to have done it.”

VO: And proud to block action on gun safety.

TRUMP: “During my four years, nothing happened, and there was great pressure on me, having to do with guns. We did nothing.”

There is only one choice: Kamala Harris.
