Everytown for Gun Safety Announces New Gubernatorial and Statewide Endorsements

NEW YORK — Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced a new round of endorsements for statewide offices. A full list of endorsed candidates is below and represents races across six states.

“States have long been the drivers of change on gun safety, which is why Everytown is going all-in to elect gun sense champions to statehouses across the country,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “The candidates we’re endorsing today are committed to taking action on gun safety, which is why we’re committed to mobilizing gun safety voters on their behalf.”

“Our movement has seen the incredible progress we can achieve on gun safety when we have strong gun sense champions in our state legislatures,” said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. “We are proud to endorse these candidates today, and our volunteers are fully committed to making sure voters throughout our communities know to support these leaders at the polls.”

Delaware

  • County Executive Matt Meyer, candidate for Governor
  • State Senator Kyle Evans Gay, candidate for Lieutenant Governor 

New Hampshire

  • Former Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig, candidate for Governor

North Carolina

  • Attorney General Josh Stein, candidate for Governor
  • State Senator Rachel Hunt, candidate for Lieutenant Governor 
  • Rep. Jeff Jackson, candidate for Attorney General
  • Secretary Elaine Marshall, candidate for Secretary of State

Oregon

  • State Representative Dan Rayfield, candidate for Attorney General
  • Treasurer Tobias Read, candidate for Secretary of State 

Pennsylvania

  • Former Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, candidate for Attorney General

Washington

  • Attorney General Bob Ferguson, candidate for Governor
  • Lt. Governor Denny Heck, candidate for Lieutenant Governor 
  • Former U.S. Attorney Nick Brown, candidate for Attorney General
  • Secretary Steve Hobbs, candidate for Secretary of State

In July, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and Victory Fund announced a $45 million electoral program and the launch of a new grassroots voter contact program to help elect gun sense candidates and defeat gun extremists up and down the ballot in key swing districts and states. Everytown’s efforts will focus on young voters on college campuses, voters of color, and suburban women in Arizona, California, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Last month, Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced a record $7.5 million investment to train and elect Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers, including many candidates running in key races across the country.
