Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund Endorses More Than 60 State Legislative Candidates Across Country

10.11.2018

Everytown’s Electoral Program Includes Nationwide Grassroots Activity and Financial Support to Elect Gun Sense Champions Up and Down the Ballot

NEW YORK – Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund today announced additional endorsements of more than 60 state legislative candidates, both Democrats and Republicans. The endorsed candidates are key gun safety champions from red, blue and purple states. Everytown is all-in on electing these candidates, and Moms Demand Action volunteers will be making calls, knocking on doors and turning out the vote for them in November.

Everytown’s electoral program includes independent expenditures, candidate contributions, candidate endorsements, voter registration and nationwide canvassing and phone banking.

STATEMENT FROM JOHN FEINBLATT, PRESIDENT OF EVERYTOWN FOR GUN SAFETY:

“With Congress failing to lead on gun safety, states have stepped up and filled the void — and that’s exactly why states remain at the heart of Everytown’s strategy. We are proud to endorse these candidates, who understand that reducing the toll of gun violence requires more than thoughts and prayers — it requires action.”

STATEMENT FROM SHANNON WATTS, FOUNDER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“Lawmakers and candidates from Alaska to Florida – and everywhere in between – have heard Americans’ clarion call for action, and they‘re responding with policy platforms that prioritize gun safety. Moms Demand Action volunteers will support these candidates every step of the way between now and November and by calling, canvassing and turning out voters to elect leaders who pledge to help end this crisis.”
