Everytown and Moms Demand Action Statements Following Hillary Clinton’s Victory Clinching the Democratic Nomination for President

6.8.2016

NEW YORK – Following Hillary Clinton’s victory in securing the Democratic Party’s nomination for president, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, including Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, which last week endorsed Hillary Clinton for President, released the following statements:

JOHN FEINBLATT, PRESIDENT OF EVERYTOWN FOR GUN SAFETY:

“Last week we endorsed Hillary Clinton for president because she’s willing to stand up to the gun lobby – so we stood up for her. Our supporters worked to push her over the top in California, a state with strong gun laws and a strong base of Gun Sense Voters, and they made a big difference. This is yet more proof that guns is a winning issue – and another step toward making 2016 the year of gun safety.”

SHANNON WATTS, FOUNDER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA, PART OF EVERYTOWN FOR GUN SAFETY:

“A lot of history was made last night – including that for the first time, the Democratic nominee for president ran and won because of her strong gun record and what she will do to Make America Safe Again. Our Moms and survivors have been working hard to get out the vote for Hillary – it made a real difference last night and it will continue to make a difference through November when we will prove once and for all that Americans demand political leaders who will protect our families and communities from gun violence.”
