10.30.2019

At Least Three People Were Shot and Killed, and at Least Nine People Were Wounded in a Shooting Tuesday Night

LONG BEACH, Calif.  – The California chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a part of Everytown for Gun Safety, released the following statement after a shooting in Long Beach. Reports indicate that three people were shot and killed and at least nine others were wounded in a shooting at a party at Long Beach home.

“We’re heartbroken to hear that gun violence has devastated another community,” said Nicole Williams, a volunteer leader with the California chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and a member of the Everytown Survivor Network whose son, Antonio, was shot in South Los Angeles while picking up dinner from a neighborhood restaurant in November 2017. He died 16 days later from his wounds. “We should all be free to celebrate with friends and family without fear of gun violence. This shooting is another deadly reminder that we must do more to stop gun violence in California and across the country.”
