Everytown and Moms Demand Action have kept an index of school shootings in America since 2013 – recording anytime a firearm is discharged inside a school building or on a school campus or grounds.

STATEMENT FROM BARBARA KING -WILSON, VOLUNTEER WITH THE CALIFORNIA CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“Today’s shooting at the campus of Belmont High School and Sal Castro Middle School is a tragedy. This is the seventh school shooting in the past two weeks in our country. What number is too many? Gun violence has no place in our community and certainly not in our schools – where our children should feel safe to learn. As we think about the families affected today, we must not become complacent. We cannot accept that more than 90 people die from gun violence every single day in America, with hundreds more injured. Congress must do more to protect our children from gun violence.”
