Students Demand Action Volunteers Have Helped Over 100,000 Young Voters Register to Vote Ahead of Election Day, Established More Than 400 Local Groups Across the County

A New Axios Poll Revealed That Young Voters Will Be Critical To The Election, Especially In Swing States

NEW YORK — As Election Day approaches, Students Demand Action volunteers, a grassroots arm of Everytown for Gun Safety, and survivors of gun violence across the country are available for interviews to discuss the importance of young voters in the upcoming election, how Students Demand Action volunteers are organizing on the ground to turn out votes for gun sense candidates up and down the ballot, and their relational organizing efforts at polls.

This weekend, Students Demand Action volunteers in key battleground states are posting up at the polls to encourage young voters exiting the polls to text their friends to remind them to vote. Students are also working as poll workers on Tuesday with Everytown For Gun Safety’s Democracy Demands Action campaign. 

In April, Everytown committed at least $1.5 million to the Students Demand Action voter registration program, which included more than a dozen paid organizers who will help lead efforts across battleground states. 

Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and Victory Fund have invested heavily in 2020 elections, on track to nearly double what they spent in the 2018 midterms.
