BRINKLEY, Ark.
– The Arkansas chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today issued the following statement in response to reports that four people were shot, including one fatally, during a domestic violence incident Thursday morning in Brinkley. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said that a suspect is in custody.

STATEMENT FROM EVE JORGENSEN, VOLUNTEER LEADER WITH THE ARKANSAS CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:

“Our hearts go out to the families of those affected by this tragedy. Gun violence is far too prevalent in our country. More than 90 Americans are killed by gun violence every day, and hundreds more are injured. On average, 50 women are shot to death by intimate partners every month. This is entirely unacceptable. Today’s senseless shooting is a sad reminder that we can and should do more to reduce gun violence in our state and country.”
