The Everytown Cultural and Entertainment Advocacy team works alongside actors, musicians, storytellers, athletes, sports teams, authors, and other cultural figures to amplify the voices and work of the gun violence prevention movement. By harnessing the power of this community, we are able to collaboratively use the power of culture to galvanize other Americans and help erase the scourge of gun violence, which claims more than 120 Americans every day, and wounds hundreds more.

Our Work

Creative Council

The Everytown Creative Council was launched in 2015, in partnership with founding chair Julianne Moore.

Music

We use the power of music to reach a range of audiences, from tabling at in-person concerts, tours, and festivals to PSAs, music videos, and more.

Sports

We collaborate with athletes and professional sports teams to elevate our work being done in communities and amplify our work nationally. Our Athletic Council is composed of athletes across all major sports leagues.

Storytelling

We aim to tell the full story of gun violence in America through a variety of ways, from creating impactful narratives around gun safety to connecting with content creators across mediums.

Literature and the Arts

We collaborate with writers and editors who aim to create impactful work related to gun violence and gun violence prevention.

Wear Orange

Wear Orange began on June 2, 2015—what would have been Hadiya Pendleton’s 18th birthday. Every year, believers in gun violence prevention come together to show their support by using various aspects of culture as their medium.
